Woodside Boarding Kennels

The Problem

The owners of Woodside had been concerned about rising energy costs for a while, and things came to a head when they added more machinery and expanded their capacity at the premises.

They reached out to a mutual connection after being told they couldn’t have a Solar PV installation due to a grid limitation [the DNO’s refusal to allow the exporting of excess energy]

We told them this was not the case [there’s almost always a solution to a problem like this] and demystified the solution for them.

The EGA Solution

After a highly productive first meeting, we got to work and, sure enough we confirmed during our initial due diligence that, as the site was single phase – despite it being a commercial building – the local DNO wouldn’t allow exporting of any excess electricity to the grid.

The Feasibility Report therefore included the addition of a G100 Exportation Limiter, to prevent this from happening and secure approval to install from the DNO.

The site was fitted with a 18.5kW system (plus the Limiter) after discussions based on the Feasibility Report recommendations.

But don't take our word for it, here's what the customer had to say about working with us...

We’d been around the block a few times with this exporting thing and had pretty much given up. Every solar firm we spoke to said they couldn’t help.

Then Garry was referred to us and what a blessing that was.

Explained everything really simply, we knew how and why we could actually have Solar, and what to expect throughout the whole process.

Costs were spiralling and it was a real concern, but no more.

I’d highly recommend Garry and the whole team at Ega Energy. No BS, no ‘sales’, just good, solid, expert advice and a truly professional team who clearly know what they’re doing.
