Nobody playing the blame game or getting you caught between subcontractors who won’t take responsibility for fixing an issue (staggeringly common in the industry), and because we care and have this level of control in-house, we don’t ‘fit and forget’. Our handover and after-care process is genuinely world-class.

We offer not one, but THREE ways to fund your Solar PV installation:

a) Power Purchase Agreement (PPA – we retain ownership of the installation, you make instant savings)

b) Commercial Funding (which we facilitate)

c) CapEx (you fund it)

We have an extensive, hand-picked Board of Lenders that enables us to deliver consistently higher acceptance and significantly lower funding rates if you opt for the 2nd option.

We use the best people for the task at hand.  We employ roofers whom we train to be first-class installers, not installers who have a head for heights. Fundamental difference. Roofers understand things like roof integrity and how to make an installation robust for the long-term.

If one of our people sees an issue on the roof, they’ll just fix it as they go. If it’s a large issue, we have the capability to sort it for you.

On that note…

We are the only Solar Consultancy that currently offers to fix roofs that are substandard so that they can carry Solar PV AND we can put the cost of this into your PPA so that you pay nothing for new roof, as it will be incorporated into the PPA price (which will still be less than your grid price).

The cost is simply factored into your energy savings.

Now, that really is different.

Garry Coulson

Managing Director

Hi, I’m Garry Coulson.

At Ega Energy, our entire focus is on carbon management and energy efficiency to ensure contracts aim for low carbon delivery and significantly reduced energy costs for our clients.

My job is to ensure we keep the focus on this, whilst ensuring smooth installation and an excellent client experience.

As we grow, there’s always a danger of scaling too quickly or overheating, and I’ve sadly seen many clients of other firms suffer because of this urge to oversell. I find that, as we hire and include good people, and choose our clients carefully, we mitigate this risk and build slowly and steadily, constantly refining and improving both our internal and client experiences.​

Our clients are always our priority and a large part of my role is to ensure that projects are being delivered on time and on budget, so I specifically schedule time for monthly update meetings with all clients right up to commissioning and handover.

Because of my professional background in H&S, I’ve instituted and oversee a behavioural approach to the health and safety of contracts through direct training, feedback loops and cultural change. Developing a culture of personal responsibility across all our people has served us, and our clients, very well.

I love rugby (and most sports), and have a passion for travelling and getting acquainted with different cultures. My real passion, though, is being outdoors with my family and our dog, enjoying walks in the beautiful countryside and on the fabulous beaches that we’re blessed with in this part of the world.

I’m Stuart, and it’s a pleasure to ‘e-meet’ you.

I’ve worked in a sales environment for most of my career, but above all, I’m a marketer. In fact, I’m a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, which kind of gives the game away…

Simply put, that means I’m all about building relationships and improving communication. For me, in all the years I’ve been involved in Sales, these two things have stood out as being critical attributes of long-term success.

They say that travel broadens the mind, and I’d wholeheartedly agree, having lived and worked in Spain, Ireland, the Caribbean and Honduras, where I also indulged my love of squash, running and good food & wine.

Now back in the North of England, after some time in the commercial energy market, I’m delighted to be heading up Sales at Ega Energy and aligning my passion for the planet with Ega’s own mission to help great businesses access Renewable Energy solutions that provide significant benefits and don’t (literally) cost the Earth.

Hi,

I’m Carl and I’m responsible for ensuring that each aspect of installation of your Ega Energy solution is carried out to the standards of excellence we expect of ourselves, and that leave you very happy to refer and recommend us.

I have 30 years of extensive experience in roofing and Renewable Energy, but probably the thing I’m most proud of is the lessons I learned running my own roofing company for 10 years, where we had a particular specialism in installing solar PVs.

That entire decade taught me not to make assumptions (about anything or anyone), and to cross-check everything, something that I our Installation teams have adopted as a standard work practice.

I love seeing good people thrive, and I especially enjoy helping children to grow through sport. For this reason, in my free time I run a grassroots football club at Ashington United, and I coach teams with my daughter.

Obviously, we also have installation teams, compliance, back office, central admin, etc., many of whom you’ll become familiar with if/once we begin to help you with your Solar PV/Renewable Energy needs.
